Press Release — International Security Officers’ Day 24 July 2026

International Security Officers’ Day (ISOD) returns on 24 July 2026, celebrating the frontline professionals who protect people, property and communities around the clock. The date — 24/7 — symbolises the continuous vigilance and commitment shown by security officers worldwide.

This year, the International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO UK) has released a comprehensive Organisational Appreciation Kit to help companies recognise their teams meaningfully. The kit includes leadership email templates, social media posts, an event-planning checklist, and best‑practice guidance for building a year‑round culture of appreciation.

The resources encourage organisations to highlight real achievements, reach every shift — including nights and remote posts — and combine leadership, peer and client recognition. Suggested activities range from leadership site visits and handwritten thank‑you cards to officer spotlights, CPD sponsorships and participation in wider industry events.

ISOD continues to grow globally, championed by IFPO and industry partners, reinforcing the message that security officers are not a “hidden workforce” but essential professionals whose work keeps communities safe every day. Organisations are encouraged to join the campaign using the official hashtag #thankyousecurityofficers and help shine a light on the people behind the badge.
